Meet louie

i didn't set out to become a whole person about my dog, and then louie showed up and rearranged everything in the best way. he came into my life at a moment when i needed something to be soft and certain, and he has been exactly that ever since. he has been everywhere i have. four years old, thirty-five pounds, and the best travel companion i've ever had.

Sally kissing Louie in a field at golden hour
golden hour he tolerates this roughly four times a day.
The basics:
four years old, a merle french bulldog, and thirty-five pounds of it, most of that chest. born loud and never quieter since.
You can find him:
on the beach before june, in his booster seat with his head out the window, or introducing himself to a stranger who did not ask. sweet potato will get his attention from anywhere in the house.
He has survived:
cherry eye in both eyes, back surgery for ivdd, and more than one lightbulb. none of it seems to have registered with him at all.
Fun fact:
when he is mad at you he will hold eye contact and pee somewhere he is fully aware he is not supposed to. petty, effective, and somehow still my favorite person.
